Be A Little Sister

The Lincoln County's Little Sisters Mentoring Program is for young ladies ages 5 – 12 years old. The purpose of this program is to mentor these young ladies by providing them with a young woman as a role model who will encourage them to achieve their best and to make wise choices and who have an interest in competing someday in the Miss Oklahoma Competition. The current Miss Lincoln County and Miss Stroud titleholders will serve as the mentor to the Lincoln County Little Sisters.

Each Lincoln County Little Sister will have the opportunity, as provided by the local competition director and local titleholder, to be a part of the titleholder’s year. The local titleholder is encouraged to engage the stars in any activity that she can to make them feel a part of her year as she prepares for the Miss Oklahoma Competition, represents her local franchise at various events throughout the year and be a part of her platform and community service activities.

Our Miss Lincoln County's Little Sisters are given the opportunity to participate in the Miss Oklahoma Stars Program during the week of the Miss Oklahoma Competition as long as they are between the ages of 5 and 10 to participate as a Miss Oklahoma Star. Those stars will appear onstage with her local titleholder during the preliminary competition and in a special production during the Saturday night final competition.

Goals:

• Encourage younger, active involvement in the Miss Lincoln County Organization.
• Provide forum for personal growth.
• Mentor using positive role models.
• Have fun!

 All Miss Lincoln County Little Sisters will be mentored throughout the year by our titleholders. We invite you to participate in as many activities as you can. We have seen that the more activities/events that you participate in, the more your daughter will benefit from the friendships and mentorships. 

2023 was the inaugural year for the Stars Program with the Star who was paired with the contestant who won, being named as the Official Star. Then an additional Official Star was added when it was expressed that additional young ladies wished to attend Miss Oklahoma. Due to a change in the national program, we will no longer be having the "official" Miss Lincoln County Little Sister.

There will be People’s Choice Voting @ $1 per vote

Special Awards Will Be Given to those Little Sisters Who Bring In the Most Money for People’s Choice!

Ages: 5 - 12 years old 

Applicants must be between the ages of 5 and 12 as of August 3, 2024 to be a Miss Lincoln County Little Sister. Ages to be eligible to attend Miss Oklahoma Stars Program is Kindergarden thru 5th grade.

Each young lady will be introduced on stage with her official Lincoln County Star crown. And then she will appear on stage during the Evening Gown Competition with a Miss contestant.  The Little Sisters will also be appearing in a special Little Sisters production number!

All of the Little Sisters will attend parades and events with our titleholders such as the Prague Kolache Festival Parade, Meeker Pumpkin Festival, Easter Festivities, Prague’s Light the Park and some other Christmas Parades. 

Attire: Dressy, SOLID WHITE dress (any style or type of fabric) and no other color on the dress.  No dresses with lots of petticoats.  If dress has sash, bows, appliqués, buttons, etc. they MUST match the dress or be clear. Minimal sparkles/stones are allowed on the dress but must be clear, silver or match the dress.  The dress cannot be totally stoned or sequined.  The hem of the dress must fall between the knee and the ankle and must NOT touch the floor.

Shoes:  To wear with dress:  must be white, silver, or clear (age appropriate). For safety concerns, the shoes should be secure when walking, climbing stairs, etc. (no slides/slip-on or backless).

 Production Number Attire: White dress as above

Rehearsal Attire: Casual attire such as shorts, capris, jeans, casual skirt and official t-shirt.  Bring a sweater or jacket because the air-conditioning can be cool. 

Crown for Appearances: Must wear official Lincoln County Star crown only. Should a Little Sister accept a “Sister” position with another titleholder, she will ONLY appear at Lincoln County Events as a Lincoln County Sister wearing only the Lincoln County Star Crown. Official Miss Lincoln County/Miss Stroud Sisters will wear her round crown and sash.

Appearance Attire: Unless specified differently, all little sisters will wear their Little Sisters t-shirts and shorts/pants and crowns.

Photo Requirement: One head & shoulder (wallet to 5x7) high resolution COLOR photograph 300 dpi.
If using a cell phone photo – the photo must be high resolution – check your settings 

1. Please send full image of head & shoulder photo – no photos with top of the head cropped off or face only photos
2. This is your official photograph so should reflect age-appropriate clothing
3. No strapless dresses, glitz, hats, CROWNS, flowers, trophies, etc. 
4. Must be submitted electronically with Lincoln County Little      Sisters name identifying photo.
5. If submitting a professional photograph, you must submit a photo release from the photographer.  School photos do not require a photo release.
