Eligibility Requirements
2026 TITLE-YEAR CONTESTANTS FOR MISS LINCOLN COUNTY/MISS STROUD MUST LIVE OR GO TO SCHOOL WITHIN A 100 MILE RADIUS OF STROUD, OK.
Miss Eligibility:
Ages: In order to be eligible to compete for MISS LOCAL/MISS OKLAHOMA 2026 candidates should be:
1. Must be at least 18 years old as of State competition. No older than 27 as of June 1, 2026.
2. a citizen of the United States of America
3. a female
4. not now, nor have ever been married, nor a parent or adoptive parent
Must meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:
A resident of the State of Oklahoma
Enrolled in and physically attending classes on a full-time basis at an accredited college or university in the State of Oklahoma
Employed on a full-time basis in the State of Oklahoma.
For the past 104 years, Miss America has been one of the country’s most recognizable household names and has been at the center of everything from national trends to social movements to the birth of television. The young women involved have made a significant difference in people’s lives through their charitable and community service endeavors, using the national platform to educate millions of Americans on issues facing the nation.
Miss America is more than a title, it’s a movement of empowering young women everywhere to dream big, to insist that their voices be heard and to inspire change in the world around them. The Miss America & Miss America’s Teen programs have promoted education at a time when preparing women for the slowly evolving workforce was crucial. Our mission is to continue to empower women to LEAD with style, service, scholarship and success, all on a foundation of ‘sisterhood’.
Of course, Miss America wears a crown—she rules.
Phases of Competition

Interview: Interviews will be 10 minutes. Contestant will begin the interview with a 30 second pitch about her Community Service Initiative (CSI). This will immediately lead into the 9 -1/2 minute interview. Contestants will be judged on her speaking ability. She should be articulate, have a sense of conviction, poise under pressure, knowledgeable about social impact, pop culture, politics and Lincoln County. Contestants should be non-programmed and have the “it” factor.
On Stage Conversation – Wardrobe: Delegate to be in Opening Number Apparel. Preliminary Purpose: This question to be asked immediately following any opening presentation/choreography. This should be the first phase of any preliminary competition. Questions: The preliminary conversation question should be a single question asked onstage regarding the Delegate’s Community Service Initiative (CSI) and response should not be longer than 30 seconds.
Health & Fitness: All active/fitness wear must be ordered from REBEL ATHLETIC. USE CODE: MAOOKGB. Anything red from the Miss America line. NO EXCEPTIONS TO WEARING ANYTHING BUT THE REBEL ATHLETIC BRAND FITNESS APPAREL. This phase of competition is where the delegate showcases her commitment to health and fitness initiatives. A contestant’s discipline and commitment to being physically healthy is a key to success in all other areas of life, and the rigors of representing the Miss America or Miss America’s Teen program as a national titleholder.
Talent/HERstory: 90 second talent presentation will be judged on training, presentation and potential. To underscore the Miss America and Miss America’s Teen commitment to supporting performance arts education initiatives and women’s individual efforts in dance, music, opera/vocal, drama, magic, oratory and circus arts. There can be no duplication of a Talent act among the contestants. This is determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. The judges WILL be judging on presentation and technique. It is advised that contestants select music selections approved by doing a Music license search so that talent music used on local level can be used on state level if we choose. A contestant cannot perform the same music selection at state for more than 2 years.
Evening Gown: Contestants will be judged on first impression, natural poise and grace, confidence, overall beauty, choice of clothing (Do we see the dress or the young lady? Is the dress appropriate?) – the total package. Delegate will publicly present her sense of Style wearing an evening gown in a fashion suitable for an appearance as Teen/Miss Local/Miss State. Part of a titleholder’s role is to attend galas, fundraisers, awards shows, and other formal events. This often involves walking a red carpet, posting for the press photographers, modeling in fashion shows, promoting various national fashion designers who partner with Miss America or Miss America’s Teen programs.

Community Service Initiative (CSI):Your CSI will be your platform on which you will work, alongside your Local and Miss Oklahoma Organization, during your Year of Service. This submission allows you to explain to the local judges your subject matter choice, how you choose to advocate for it during your year and the metrics you see for success at the close of your Year of Service. In addition, it should explain how your advocacy will further the Miss Oklahoma/Miss America Organization mission.
Costs
There are costs that are required by the Miss America Organization to compete. $49.99 yearly membership fee to be paid to the Miss America Organization. $125 Entry Fee to be paid to the Miss Lincoln County Scholarship Organization. These costs are subject to change so please consult with the executive director on the latest costs.
Some contestants obtain sponsors to help defray this cost or ask friends and family to donate. This is up to you.
Each contestant is required to raise at least $30 for the American Heart Association.
REQUIRED HEALTH/FITNESS APPAREL
Rebel Athletic Wear is the OFFICIAL MISS AMERICA AND MISS AMERICA TEEN SPONSOR. ALL contestants are REQUIRED to wear athletic wear from Rebel Athletic (Miss America Red Collection). NO EXCEPTIONS.
Go REd For women
The Miss America Organization has partnered with the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Movement. Each contestant on the local, state and national levels are required to do fund-raising for this important cause.
Contestants on the local level are required to raise at least $30 for the AHA and State level contestants $300 though special Spotfund Fundraising.
Money raised will benefit local AHA organizations as well as the State and National Scholarship Foundations.
