Sydney Arguello is the 22-year-old daughter of Virginia and Paul Arguello. Sydney was raised in a small town McLoud, OK where the close-knit community and the love of her family shaped who she is today. She served her hometown as the 2019-20 McLoud Blackberry Queen.
Growing up, Sydney’s teachers inspired passion for learning and encouraged her to dream of becoming an educator herself. That dream has guided her to the University of Central Oklahoma, where she is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with hopes of creating a classroom where every child feels valued and empowered. She is a member of the Kappa Delta Phi, National Education Honor Society and is on the UCO President’s Honor Roll. She is was also an All-American Cheerleader and a Girls Scouts Bronze & Silver Award recipient.
Family is the most important part of her life, and they are the reason behind Sydney’s Community Service Initiative, Very Eager to Serve (V.E.T.S.). With a family history of military service spanning from World War II to more recent conflicts, she has seen firsthand the sacrifices veterans make, as well as the challenges they face after service. Her initiative is dedicated to raising awareness about the needs of veterans while inspiring young people to get involved in meaningful ways. By bridging the gap between students and veteran organizations, she hopes to honor her family’s legacy and ensure that those who served are never forgotten.
Sydney is excited to bring her vocal talent to the Miss Oklahoma stage singing La Vie En Rose during the talent competition. She looks forward to her spending her rookie year as Miss Stroud and hopes to bring that Miss Oklahoma crown back to Stroud!
